Posting Summary: The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease and International Health seeks candidates for a new position.
The Division has developed and tested, under a research protocol, a mobile application used in the care of HIV patients. The Virginia Department of Health has approved funding to allow an expansion in the use of this application to other HIV center across the Commonwealth.
This newly created position will join the grant funded Positive Links Plus project in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health to continue development, deployment and oversight of this application to centers across the Commonwealth caring for HIV patients.
The incumbent will be creative and lead efforts in developing and maintaining mobile & web-based applications for a growing number of HIV practices. This position will also be responsible for ongoing mobile & web-based application development with responsibilities overseeing planning, design, programming, and implementation.
This is a restricted position contingent upon continued funding.

Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline. Eight years of relevant experience in web/software development may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Required Specific Experience: At least 4 years of recent PhP, Ruby on Rails, Java Script, HTML, CSS & SQL (MYSQL/Maria DB) development or equivalent experience in an Object-Oriented programming language building web applications, and at least 2 years of SQL Server database development.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Possess an in-depth understanding of discipline including all required certifications as well as an in-depth understanding of the business environment of UVa, VDH and Infectious Diseases & International Health. 2. Demonstrate a basic understanding of UVa, its' policies, and its' operating procedures. Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
