POSITIONSUMMARY To perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair work in areas of carpentry, painting, lighting, and general mechanics.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBLITIES • Install and repair ceiling tiles / systems • Repair folding and sliding doors • Repair residence hall furniture where possible. • Install floor tile and base cove • Repair and replace glass • Repair and replace eave troughs, drain spouts, expansion joints, and install flashings • Request parts and supplies as needed. • Maintain and repair electric vacuum sweepers. • Repair and alter floors, doors, roofs, decks, stairways, rails, and screening. • Repair wood and aluminum window and door frames. • Install window glass and plexiglass and repair aluminum storm door closers and chains. • Replace and install weather stripping on doors and windows • Repair carpeting where possible • Varnish and/or paint doors and other parts of buildings exterior and interior. • Install plaster board, dry wall, ceramic and plastic tiles. • Replace light bulbs, fuses, and make minor electric switch repairs or replacements. • Assist with seasonally related grounds work (leaf, ice / snow removal). • Assist with event set-ups/takedowns and furniture relocation • Maintaining a clean work area during and following service • Other duties as assigned. • Two years of satisfactory work experience is desirable. • Frequent lifting of over 75 pounds is required. • Familiarity and ability to use common hand tools. • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions. • Requires valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
