Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Operations Manager within our Transportation Systems Division. In this dynamic newly created role you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in overseeing the management of all areas of manufacturing, procurement and inventory to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. You will also be challenged with the creation, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing policies, standards and programs to improve competitive edge and profitability. To qualify for this role, you will possess:
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Assist General Manager in the development and formation of long and short-range strategic planning and objectives.
Direct and control procurement, inventory, and warehouse functions for the division.
Direct the testing facility (testing operations) to ensure planning and scheduling are effectively implemented and monitored.
Develop manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations. Ensure manufactured products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
Identify, recommend and implement productivity improvements to reduce costs, scrap and rework. Optimize employee staffing, overhead, and raw materials to meet budgetary plans.
Direct the creation, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing policies, standards and programs to improve the company’s competitive position and profitability.
Lead staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve Company, Division and Department objectives. Manage and develop staff by communicating job expectations; monitoring and appraising job performance; recommending compensation actions; and providing coaching, training and growth opportunities and maintaining positive employee relations.
Develop employees by training, cross training and providing continuing education opportunities.
Create and monitor monthly reports of key operational metrics. Monitor activity reports and financial statements to track actual progress against plans and objectives.
Manage the budgets and facilities for all departments reporting to this position.
Direct and coordinate programs essential to manufacturing operations (e.g. training, safety, housekeeping, security, etc.).
Lead meetings with MELCO to align production process and procedures.
Lead and manage all logistics activities and operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with manufacturing management including a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing others, or equivalent education and experience.
Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with vendors, customers, and employees.
Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural work environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deliverable deadlines.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time as required.
