As the Director of Mechanical Engineering, this person will be responsible for marketing, project delivery, client satisfaction, profitability, staffing, and the overall growth of the firm’s mechanical capabilities.
Strategy and overall office leadership
Participate with the Principals in developing a strategy for marketing the firm’s mechanical capabilities
Participate at the Principals’ request in firm-wide strategy discussions on business development, project delivery, technology, and construction administration
Participate in increasing the firm’s visibility in its target market sectors
Participate in specific client and project pursuits
Stay abreast of factors and trends in the marketplace that affect the firms’ strategy and operations; take or recommend action accordingly
Staffing and personnel management; anticipate and identify specific needs in the group
Initiate recruitment efforts as necessary
Nurture and guide the staff
Identify training and continuing education needs, and take the lead in providing programs to meet them
Make compensation recommendations to Director of Engineering
Assure that Project Managers have appropriate budgets for their projects, and assist them to assure profitable results

Educational/Work Experience Requirements
Accredited degree in mechanical engineering – BSME
Professional registration in Georgia
Minimum of seven to 15 years of engineering practice, at least five of which are in leadership and management roles
Participation in implementation of marketing plans and strategies
Track record of profitability in projects and operations
Extremely proficient using CAD and REVIT software
Visibility within the civic, business, and professional communities
