The American Concrete Institute (ACI), a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards, technical resources, and educational programs, is looking for a dynamic individual who will be responsible to identify, plan, develop, and implement initiatives, as well as grow strategic relationships with individuals, companies, and governmental bodies in the Middle East/North Africa region.
Job functions include but are not limited to:
Establish and nurture a wide range of strategic relationships in the Middle East/North Africa region, including relationships with chapters, companies, governmental bodies, educational institutions, partners, and other construction industry organizations
Position ACI as a leading resource for information on concrete by participating in regional events to grow the awareness and reputation of ACI
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the concrete market in the MENA region
Monitor and advocate for adoption of ACI codes, specifications, and certifications in countries in the MENA region
Identify current Institute products and services appropriate for marketing efforts in the MENA region
Support the Executive Vice President and Director, International Business Development in strategic development planning related to products and services for the MENA region
Assist with marketing strategy and review of marketing efforts and activities in the MENA region in collaboration with the Marketing Department
Support the growth, maintenance and development of strong Chapters in the region
Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or related field, or commensurate experience
Proven experience in cultivating relationships
Region-based experience in any of the following areas highly desirable: engineering, construction, non-profit management, business development, standards developing organizations, engineering or technical societies
Familiarity with international travel and business cultures preferred
Foreign language skills are beneficial (Arabic language is highly beneficial)

About American Concrete Institute
ACI is a private, not-for-profit engineering, scientific, educational organization that develops, promotes, and coordinates standards and technology for the concrete design and construction industry. Founded in 1904, ACI provides a forum for all the stakeholders involved in concrete design, construction, operations, maintenance, and repair. ACI’s membership primarily includes: practicing engineers, contractors, management personnel, educators, materials suppliers, government employees, and students.
ACI has approximately 20,000 members with about 20 percent of these members residing outside the United States. There are 115 countries represented on the membership rolls. The Institute supports 100 independently-operated chapters throughout the world. Forty two of these chapters are outside the U.S.A. Additionally, there are 44 student chapters.
