ARA has an outstanding engineering leadership opportunity available in our Mid-Atlantic Division (MAD). This individual will work from our office in Elkridge, Maryland. This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate will be an established professional who will lead efforts to identify, capture, and execute opportunities related to the MAD’s core business areas in pavement and infrastructure engineering & research, as well as related new business areas.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who is skilled at time/workload management and has the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. The ability to work independently, as well as coordinate within and across geographically separated teams, is important. The successful applicant will also have demonstrated leadership and business skills, and the ability to recruit, hire, and develop a team in the core business areas mentioned above.
The Mid-Atlantic Division has a proven record of success in developing and deploying innovative solutions to improve performance, security, and sustainability throughout the life cycle of infrastructure. The principal civil engineer is expected to:
Be a technical lead in one or more areas related to pavement engineering.
Assume leadership of existing projects and write winning proposals to procure new work.
Engage in marketing and networking activities at conferences and other industry gatherings.
Supervise and mentor an engineering staff of 5-10 employees.
Master of Science or better in Civil Engineering.
15+ years of professional pavement engineering experience, including project management and business development experience.
Professional Engineer license.
