Department: OCIO Security Operations
Summary of Duties:
Under a high level of Supervision: responsible for developing and maintaining software that supports the functions and initiatives of the Enterprise Security team, including meeting with customers to develop requirements; frequently requires the use of third-party APIs and libraries; provides customer support for various services operated by Enterprise Security Operations team; assists with the configuration & maintenance of database and application servers in support of the Enterprise Security mission; develops original content for Splunk in the form of searches, reports, alerts and dashboards; follows operational procedures to administer and support the ongoing maintenance of Security tools and systems, OR Follows operational procedures to gather, analyze & process Security Service data in accordance with operations requirements; identifies and monitors system or process bug fixes and enhancement activities to completion; assists senior engineers to develop job aides, documentation and training materials; participates in testing of Security Systems or Services.

In-depth experience with software development using Ruby on Rails, jQuery, and data storage & retrieval from a PostgreSQL database server; experience implementing network security best practices and operating a secure web environment; in-depth understanding of Splunk data query language & API; experience with creating Splunk dashboards and other dynamic content; system administration of Linux CentOS 6+; use and configuration of a Puppet-managed environment; solid understanding of the Apache web service, and TCP/IP fundamentals; experience working at a large university or other large organization employing a mix of centralized and de-centralized services.
Target Salary: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annually
