The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) has an immediate need for a full time, Database Business Analyst to assist our team with evaluating and implementing business systems in order to meet stakeholder needs. This position manages SME’s association management systems and the related databases.
The Database Business Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and client needs. Recommend and implements internal and external facing systems and procedures that enable business strategies. Documents systems and procedures and provides client training and support. Manages and maintains systems to ensure security, availability, accuracy, efficiency, and integrity. Maintains up to date knowledge of technical concepts, business operations, and goals in order to inform management decisions. This is a hands-on position with a primary focus on the highest degree of customer service for AMS support & reporting needs. The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration utilizes Personify as the organization's AMS solution. This position will manage & coordinate all facets of support activities for the AMS system.
Bachelor's Degree in information technology or computer science.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of work experience in database application administration, data design, evaluation of new database application requirements and developing recommended solutions by defining database schema and functional capabilities.
5 + years of experience working with Association Management Systems. (At least 3+ years of strong business analysis experience in Personify).
4+ years’ experience in SQL Server with proven ability to write stored procedures, ability to analyze, write and optimize queries and views. Analyze and modify table structures, and user-defined functions.
Proficient with SAP Business Objects products, including Crystal Reports, Dashboards, Web Intelligence, Widgets, and Universe design tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong analytical and project management skills and be able to translate complex technical issues into easy to understand concepts and solutions.
Anticipate, understand, and proactively fulfill customer/staff needs and expectations by providing excellent direct and indirect service.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to consistently demonstration of cooperative attitude – assume responsibility and maintain flexibility when faced with challenges and different ideas
401K plan – 3% safe-harbor match plus 80% match of the first 5% contributed by the employee
Staff bonus plan – up to 8% of eligible wages.
Staff salaries are reviewed each November 1st.
