The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor with an anticipated start date of August 8, 2019. Exceptional candidates with backgrounds in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related disciplines will be considered.
There is particular interest in candidates with strong research expertise in computational and simulation science related to manufacturing, energy for sustainability, propulsion, aerodynamics, space, mechatronics and other emerging research areas.

The MAE Department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs. Both BSAE and BSME programs are ABET-accredited. A new M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering was launched Fall 2016. The department is home to 40 full-time faculty members, several adjuncts and the Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER). The reputation of the department is continually growing with numerous faculty achievements including NSFCAREER, ONR and DTRA Young Investigator Awards, and fellowships in professional societies. An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other appropriate disciplines by the time of the appointment.
