Validic, one of the fastest growing companies in healthcare technology today, is actively recruiting for a Software Engineer. In this role, the Software Engineer helps to build out the various Validic products, including our core data acquisition platform, APIs and remote patient monitoring tools. Leveraging their passion for software development and technology, this individual will be a key member of the team that is ensuring the timely delivery of actionable data to our Healthcare and Wellness customers.
What You’ll Work On
Developing services that communicate with 3rd-party APIs in order to obtain data on behalf of our customers.
Building the products that deliver near real-time health and wellness data to Validic’s customers in order to help their patients, members and clients make more informed healthcare decisions.
A number of cross-team initiatives, all contributing to transforming interoperability within the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities Implementation of features and bug fixes within the current production environment, including core enhancements and API integrations
Working with other members of the Engineering Team, develop and deploy new features, products and enhancements which enrich the value of the Validic offerings
Ensure timely delivery of implemented functionality in an agile fashion
Contribute as a valuable team member in a high-growth company
Additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute towards team and company success
3+ years experience developing scalable and maintainable software for use in production environments
Demonstrable understanding of Java, the JVM ecosystem and other JVM-based languages
Solid understanding of RESTful web services and a working knowledge of JSON
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience partnering with product owners and other software engineers
Ability to learn, proactively seek and apply new knowledge and skills to stay ahead of emerging technologies
Adaptable, ability to think outside the box, work on complex issues, push personal limits, and cohesively learn and share with co-workers
Excellent communication skills are vital
Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects in an agile development environment
Bias for action. “Can do” style that thrives in a fast-paced office environment
Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
Ruby on Rails framework experience
Understanding of container services, such as Docker
Experience working with Amazon Web Services
