This position is a leadership role of Engineered to Order products along with providing supervision of 15 people manufacturing operations team for RA's System and Solutions Business at the Elmhurst, IL facility. As a Site Lead this person will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the 20,000 Sq. Ft facility, in a matrix managed facility where direct management will be off-site. This individual will oversee safety and environmental programs, customer service, and materials for the facility.
This individual will oversee the facility's on-time performance, average-order-delivery (Cycle Time), load management and capacity control, utilization of resources, process improvement, and project management. This individual is responsible for the overall facilities of the work site as well as the HR contact for the facility. This individual reviews resources and project load to ensure resources are fully utilized while leveraging third party panel shops and other local solutions center facilities in order to be cost effective and competitive. This is a growth opportunity for the right candidate and will be part of the succession development plan.
Perform regular daily audits of key processes to ensure optimum process performance
Respond to test and production problems by investigating and resolving problems with hourly and salaried personnel to assure a continuing flow of product
Coach team members, assign and monitor hourly personnel in test and/or assembly areas to accomplish daily production and schedules to RA quality standards
Develop, plan and implement continuous quality improvement through teams within the area of responsibility to attain World Class Quality
Coach teams in maintaining accurate reporting of employee time and work performance within the area as required
Utilize data to develop and implement action plans to meet department goals in the areas of labor efficiency, labor utilization, 5S/housekeeping, on-time shipments and productivity improvements
Promote an awareness of state-of-the-art manufacturing concepts and practices utilizing RPS techniques
Collaborate with production planners, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality and other management team members to set work priorities to satisfy customers
Encourage employee involvement and ownership of continuous improvement activities focused on waste reduction. Ownership of RAILS and involving necessary support personnel in resolution of action items and escalating where appropriate
Prioritize and react to constantly changing expectations and work load demands placed by internal and external customers
Create a working environment that is based on employee engagement, empowerment, and continuous improvement that ensures the highest in business ethics principles and operating disciplines
Maintain our positive environment through timely and accurate communication with employees, maintaining a safe work environment, giving timely performance feedback to employees beyond the yearly written appraisals, and cultivating a team approach within the department

Communicate with other functional leaders to resolve issues effecting production or for support of product / programs
