The Software Application Developer II, under direction, performs complex and specialized software development support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of software applications developer experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of modern web development including HTML, CSS, and mobile responsive design.
Proficiency in web design skills and software.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements or Other Factors
Occasional work on nights and weekends required
Preferred Education and Experience:
Advanced experience in Cascade Server and Wordpress content management systems.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of web accessibility law and how to create accessible sites.
Understanding of search optimization.
Familiarity with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Maps, and Adwords.
Designs complex programs, program modifications, or applications. Develops specifications based on input from the customer and creates complex design documents. Reviews and writes complex programs, program modifications, or applications. Reviews and analyzes software documentation and production results to facilitate problem resolution.
Tests complex programs, program modifications, or applications. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production output to identify causes, solutions, and makes appropriate referrals. Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated. Consults with clients to review project plans and schedules, secures approval of test results, and discusses problems or concerns.
Designs and develops code for effective and accessible interfaces for websites and microsites. Works with Web/Media designers to create multimedia interactive products for campus and external consumption including templates, ads and more. Provides ongoing maintenance of web properties â“ broken links, obsolete code, etc. Remediates web properties for web accessibility violations .
Leads the development and design of user interfaces. Assists with data and content architecture and organization. Participates in the evaluation of software products and programming languages to determine their applicability to a specific system or project.
Participates in project meetings and campus committees. Assists project leaders with developing work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
