Suddekor is a rapidly growing and fast-paced rotogravure printing and treating manufacturer supplying decorative paper to the North American laminate industry. Currently we are looking for an experienced and talented Quality & EHS Manager.
In this highly visible position, the Quality and EHS Manager will be responsible for all Suddekor’s North American operations by driving the alignment of all related activities such as: maintaining compliance with federal and state environmental safety regulations, driving improvement in Quality performance, managing the effectiveness of the customer complaint process and supporting Quality programs, goals and process improvement initiatives.
Leads, develops and deploys the Quality strategy for Suddekor’s Printing and Treating facilities in North America, ensuring alignment with the Headquarters in Germany and supporting the implementation of global Quality programs and goals.
Drives continuous improvement efforts through Quarterly Quality Functional Reviews, the deployment of the Quality System and Self-Assessment, and quality methodologies including Six Sigma.
Manages, inspects, and evaluates the environment, equipment, and processes in all work areas to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies. Serves as the primary contact person for all site visits and inspections.
Oversees and maintains OSHA Forms 300, 300A and 301 recordkeeping requirements and reviews data regularly to ensure safety programs are optimized and evidenced by the safety metrics.
Submits all regulatory reports on time to ensure site compliance with all state and federal environmental regulations. Oversees the collection of data necessary to complete the required reports timely and accurately.
Provides support in a total quality approach to customers, suppliers, partners and the service functions of the organization.
Develops, implements and maintains a Quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and leads the efforts to integrate quality into the development of short and long-term business plans.
Manages the development, implementation, and use of Quality metrics in all levels of the organization.
Analyzes key quality-related operational metrics related to both Suddekor and customer systems and performs periodic reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps at the operational level.
Reviews all safety incidents and accidents, conducts root cause investigations as needed, and reports the findings or corrective actions accordingly.
Continuously improves the capability of the Quality function through ongoing development activities and identification of talent to promote functional bench strength within the organization.
Leads quarterly Quality functional reviews, corrective and preventive actions, timely closure of actions, and other items as required.
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
6-10 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality assurance, which includes previous experience managing in multiple locations.
Experience with state and federal reporting requirements such as Air Reporting (Title IV), Tier I, Tier II, Form S, Form R, and all other required reports.
In-depth experience with the practical application of Quality tools, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001, (TS-16949, AS-9100)
Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement methods, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, gets results and drives change through others.
Ability to learn customer Quality requirements and drive process improvements.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
Ability to drive positive results related to the Quality initiatives and the continuous improvement process.
Must be able to travel 25% of the time

Süddekor LLC opened its doors in Agawam, Massachusetts, in 2000 with the goal to create, print, and supply décor papers throughout North America.
