EMWD is a progressive, multi-award winning water, wastewater service, and recycled water provider to more than 825,000 people in a 555-square mile service area. The Director of Engineering leads a team of approximately 20 professionals who design, plan and implement improvements to the District’s large potable water, wastewater, recycled water treatment, collection, distribution, storage and conveyance systems and facilities. Provides strategic technical leadership in planning, establishing and directing all aspects of the District’s engineering policies, objectives, and initiatives. Is a collaborative team player with the ability to build strong working relationships. Has experience managing capital improvement projects, strong communication skills, and the motivation to drive positive change. Collaborates with operations to achieve optimal results for the District.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering; 8+ years of progressively responsible experience designing and/or constructing large, complex water and wastewater systems; and 3+ of management experience. Current California PE or ME certification and a valid CA driver’s license are also required.
Salary: $154,044-$191,339 per year, DOQ.
