Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Project / Construction Manager to assist the USPS RAMS Program on U.S. Postal Service construction projects. This position will be a full - time position.
The Project / Construction Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the solicitation, award and construction management of a portfolio of simultaneous roofing and building envelope related projects in the Eastern and Northeast areas of the US. This individual will be responsible for contracting or utilizing in house resources for the onsite administration of the projects. Scope includes all aspects of the project from solicitation to final acceptance. They will be supported by contract staff for development and distribution of the solicitation packages as well coordination of invoice payment.
They will be responsible for ensuring that the client’s requirements regarding functionality and established standards are met and will also be responsible for dealing with any delays that may happen during construction, such as emergencies and / or unforeseen conditions that may occur; and ensuring that the construction project is concluded successfully and on - time.
This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the RAMS manager of Construction and other Project Managers
Managing multiple construction projects at one time
Coordinating with Postal Service customer from Contracting Officers to Project Managers
Planning and coordination procurement of construction projects
Construction management oversight including construction administration including verification of progress payments
Management of in house and contract construction administration resources
Construction schedule development and attainment
Determining and enforcing labor requirements
Overseeing the performance of contractors
Monitoring work progress of on - site construction
Overseeing the delivery of materials, construction tools, and equipment
Ensuring that construction resources are used well
Ensuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers
Monitoring the compliance with Postal Service requirements and specifications
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
7+ years of experience managing, and leading construction related projects / programs in value up to $2.5 million
Experience developing construction proposal packages, reviewing construction solicitations and managing construction contracts
Ability to manage and coordinate many simultaneous projects
Ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of roofing related projects
Some travel will be required
