Position Overview: AAR’s Assistant/Associate General Counsel (Environmental, Hazmat and Security) (AGC), will report to the Senior Vice President - Law/General Counsel and lead and manage legal support for AAR’s environmental, hazmat, and national security positions. The AGC’s responsibilities will include both external-facing components (e.g., representing AAR before government agencies and other stakeholders) and internal, association-facing components (e.g., facilitating discussion among AAR members on important regulatory matters; counseling AAR committees).
Experience: 10+ years of railroad-related environmental or hazardous material legal experience, including a minimum of three years at a U.S. law firm.
Compensation: Competitive base salary and bonus.
Location: Washington, DC.
Relocation: National search, but local candidates are strongly preferred.
Bar: Membership in the District of Columbia bar or eligibility to waive in.
