Connecticut Municipal Electric Energy Cooperative (CMEEC) seeks one full-time Energy Data Analyst in Norwich, CT. The Energy Data Analyst, under the direction of the Senior Programmer, is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing applications to facilitate and enhance CMEEC’s operations and analysis with focus on CMEEC Market Analysts and Reporting System (CMARS). This includes reviewing and implementing energy markets changes related to ISO-NE market design, developing business requirements for software and business process changes, and the associated transformation of data into business intelligence for use within and between operations.
Use proprietary business applications to collect data from ISO-NE Markets, enhance market data analytics and perform electricity price forecast.
Automate data preparation and forecasting processes, and standardize analytical reports to support Asset Management and Portfolio Management teams.
Manage timely flow of energy market information and customer relevant data, and provide technical and analytical support to business analysts.
Fulfill F&A’s meter data request for billing and market-to-market analysis involving interest rates and electricity prices to help determine CMEEC’s margin call risk and cash requirement.
Maintain compatibility of internal applications with external software and hardware upgrades.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
2 years experience as an Energy Data Analyst or related position.
2 years wholesale electric energy market related experience.
2 years experience with ISO New England market rules and Standard Market Design.
2 years SQL, VBA, R, Java Script, and HTML experience.
1 year MicroStrategy, Visual Studio, and Visual Source Safe experience.
1 year experience of ABB Planning & Risk Software - ProSym output data integration.
1 year experience in large scale relational databases and their operation and maintenance.
