Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Mid - Level Engineer with 5 - 10 years of engineering experience to join our Austin, Texas office and become an integral member of our technical team. Key responsibilities will include providing permitting and engineering support on various projects for existing and new environmental / industrial / government clients. Wood’s Environment & Infrastructure Solutions division is a multi - disciplined consulting organization primarily consisting of environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. 

Key Responsibilities:

This person will be a member of a team providing primarily civil and environmental engineering services to private industry and government clients. This position will support a wide variety of projects that include hydrology and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, stormwater management and permitting, stormwater infrastructure design, spill prevention and response, environmental permitting and remediation. Some of the responsibilities of this position will include:

• Initial planning and execution of engineering tasks
• Permitting
• Preparation of SPCC Plans and SWPPP
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses
• Preparation of technical reports and proposals
• Participate in the development of technical approach
• Preparation of conceptual and detail designs
• Perform detailed hydraulic modeling

Skills / Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Knowledge with current industry standards and regulations, including Federal oil pollution prevention and storm water permitting
• 5+ years’ experience of engineering and design experience in Texas
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Experience with floodplain mapping
• Prepared SWPPP and SPCC Plans
• Computer proficient (must have proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and excellent spreadsheet skills
• Strong technical writing skills
• Demonstrated verbal communication and technical presentation skills
• Team player and technical contributor
• Able to operate within scope, schedule and budget during project implementation

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Texas Professional Engineer
• Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal oil pollution prevention regulations
• Prior experience on compliance projects in Texas
• Prior consulting experience
• OSHA HAZWOPER Trained
