Oversees the operations and maintenance of the systems responsible for electrical distribution, power generation, water/waste water treatment, collection and distribution to a localized community.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Provides oversight and general direction to utilities technicians regarding underground utilities, wastewater treatment, lift stations and ensuring the water and wastewater plants meet the compliance regulations set forth by regulatory agencies.
Management of strategic and tactical planning processes, both short and long term.
Responsible for monitoring the current utility infrastructure
Manages purchasing, bidding, and contract compliance for utility operations and projects
Oversees and assists in the inspections required for new construction
Oversees and assists in the maintenance and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection lines and facilities
Monitors to ensure locates of utility lines are completed efficiently and accurately
Oversees and assists in the installation, connections, disconnections, and reading of water meters
Oversees and assists in troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing sewer pumps and floats due to sewer emergencies
Responsible for conducting required water sampling (set forth by the FDEP) and ensuring the prompt delivery to the lab for testing
Responsible for generating and distributing the CCR (Water Quality Report) annually
All personnel shall be fluent in English.
The contractor shall provide Utility Meter technicians/readers with Advanced Metering Infrastructure/Automatic Meter Reading (AMI/AMR) training from Square D/Schneider Electric.
Must possess Passport with at least 12 months of remaining validity and with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
Must possess driver’s license with at least 12 months of remaining validity.
At least five years of experience in managing a workforce providing services on contracts of similar size (City or US Military installation of 7000 population, scope and complexity in power distribution, water production/distribution and Waste Water treatment/distribution.
Must be able to clear a background check.
This position will supervise all personnel assigned to utility operations.
