Yale University’s Information Security Office (ISO) coordinates the institution’s response to cyber security risk, enabling Yale’s mission of research, teaching, preservation of knowledge and clinical care.
The ISO performs a range of security functions as part of this coordination mission, such as intrusion and vulnerability detection, incident response, policy development, training and awareness, risk assessment, information system classification and analysis, enterprise identity and access management services, regulatory and compliance attestation, disaster recovery coordination, third-party risk management, and security consulting.

Reporting to the Manager of Security Operations and Engineering, the Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting and implementing proactive security monitoring, incident response, and operational support for its cloud based platforms and services. The incumbent will comprehend key security concept and serve as the team expert on cloud IaaS security. This role will also work closely with the architecture teams to evaluate the security readiness of new features and functionalities in cloud platforms. Additionally, this will also evaluate and implement new security best practices in keeping with the latest trends and technologies.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced knowledge of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS cloud service models; advanced knowledge in Cloud design, development and implementation.
Experience with engineering cloud security guard rails in AWS, Azure or GCP.
Architect-level proficiency in Cloud ecosystems or similar experience.
Preferred Education and Experience: Compute (EC2, ECS, Lambda), Storage (S3, Redshift), Networking (VPC, WAF), Security/Auth/Auditing (IAM, CloudTrail), Monitoring (CloudWatch), CloudFront, GuardDuty, Guardrails, Experience in Terraform, Cloud Formation, or other IaC tools, Container Orchestration tools (Kubernetes or Docker, etc.), Gitlab, Python, Java
