Growing Medical Device manufacturer located in Chantilly, VA, has an immediate need for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing and other in-house processes with respect to quality, productivity and through put with the objective of reducing over all costs and improving customer satisfaction.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain/Improve processes associated with the manufacture of all MFG Product, including but not limited to, IV Warming products, Saline Solution Warmers and Chillers.
Actively support the safety, quality, & productivity goals of the MFG Assembly operation.
General Responsibilities: personnel training, time studies, troubleshooting product assembly, developing rework procedures, work instructions, manufacturing specs, new product development, and lean manufacturing projects, manufacturing data analysis, procedure maintenance and preparation, project management, tooling design, tooling purchases, variable cost productivity, management of product changes, implementation of Lean Manufacturing, improving product quality, indirect material purchasing, and maintaining bill of materials.
Apply passion for safety and fundamental knowledge of the EHS regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsible for New Product Introduction.
Performs other additional responsibilities given by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A working knowledge of designing for production, JIT and continuous improvement techniques.
Computer skills in word processing, spread sheet, and CAD software.
Good communications skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of personnel and disciplines.
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office with demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates strong project management skills and success in leading cross-functional teams.
Drafting/design experience creating drawings, applying tolerances, and issuing mechanical AutoCAD prints (including: details, assemblies, & parts lists).
Working Knowledge of the 21 CFR 820 Quality System Regulations
Experience with new product introductions, lean manufacturing, 6 sigma and/or equivalent, and HVAC experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field of study.
Minimum 5 years work experience in an assembly environment performing a manufacturing or mechanical engineering function developing tooling, fixtures, and processes including 3 years of engineering and 2 years of project management.
