Plans, designs, develops, modifies, debugs, deploys and evaluates complex software for functional areas.
Analyzes existing software involving technologies such as Ruby Rails, .NET and Coldfusion or works to formulate logic for new complex systems and devises complex algorithms.
Performs complex data analysis and tests / debugs complex software.
Analyzes the design and use of complex data sources.
Negotiates, develops and implements moderately complex test plans.
Develops conversion and system implementation plans such as re-platforming of RAILS and, NET applications such as VSPA, AP Bears and Travel.
Trains users such as Controller's Office, HR, APO and others in conversion and implementation of system.
Performs complex data modeling, performance and integration testing and creates interfaces for a variety of internal and external constituents.
Monitors and employs source code control techniques and configuration management.
Participates in the implementation, enhancement, and support of complex web applications.
The position serves in the role of developing (analysis and coding), deploying, and supporting production web applications in Java, SQL, Coldfusion, .NET, RAILS, and ASP.
Develop code in-house and in some cases, involves taking code from external sources such as other UC universities (conference and calendaring software) or external consortium and modifying to conform with UCB standards and to work in the UCB environment. (NOTE: technology is always evolving-new languages addedold languages sunsetted.)
Professional development and training.
Experience with a front end development framework such as AngularJS.
Experience in database development, SQL for MS SQL Server, Oracle and PostgresSQL.
Experience with Git.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Intermediate knowledge of secure software development.
Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs.
Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis.
Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals.
Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Demonstrated software repository skills.
Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
Thorough experience with common programming tools.
Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

Experience with Coldfusion is a plus.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience.
