The Engineer III will support the Engineering section to perform engineering studies, analysis and review cost estimates, review easement documents for compliance with city codes and responsible for administrative processes associated with engineering review and driveway permits.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Federal/State law, City policies, procedures and professional ethics by interpreting/administering codes and standards.
Interact/coordinate with various City departments, private developers and other agencies to provide project review, planning and execution of the public infrastructure.
Review construction plans for public improvements, subdivisions, and other projects.
Review easement documents for compliance with city codes and responsible for administrative processes associated with engineering review of driveway permits.
Member of the Technical Review Committee and make decisions based on City adopted standards, engineering best practices, comprehensive plans, technical manuals, and the Unified Development Code.
Prepare internal and external regulatory reports and data management.
Investigate and documents public complaints and inquiries concerning public infrastructure.
Assist with development of agenda memos and related backup documentation that effectively and accurately communicates relevant project details.
Attend Planning Commission and City Council meetings as needed.
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil, Structural, or Environmental Engineering
Minimum of four (4) years of related experience
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or a valid registration as a Professional Engineer in another state is required
If PE is from a state outside of Texas, you will have six months from date of hire to obtain a valid Texas PE certification
A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
