How would you like to work alongside a committed staff, in a vibrant and engaged community, in one of the most culturally diverse areas of the country? KL2 Connects LLC has been retained by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority to identify candidates for the position of Deputy Chief Mechanical Officer. MARTA is the principal public transport operator in the Atlanta metropolitan area, operating a network of bus routes linked to a rapid transit system consisting of 48 miles of rail track with 38 train stations. The authority’s rapid transit system is one of the largest in the United States by ridership. MARTA is building a world class transit organization with exceptional attention to safety and customer convenience. This position will ensure that the infrastructure achieves the highest state of repair with regard to rail traction power, signal systems, maintenance of way, vehicle reliability, safety, and comfort (bus and rail). Unlike many large transit systems, MARTA’s funding is secure and it is planning for service frequency increases. Rather than addressing the replacement of aging an infrastructure this position will help MARTA design and safely construct extensions and infill stations to meet the authority’s bustling, diverse community. If your skill set is equal to this standard your invitation to excel with MARTA awaits. Reporting directly to Deputy GM of Operations, the Deputy Chief Mechanical Officer will oversee, monitor, and guide the authority's Bus Maintenance, Rail Car Maintenance, and Maintenance of Way offices, directing/controlling all related activities including railcar, streetcar, bus, mobility, and MOW vehicles and systems (including, track, train control, and power functions). He/she will oversee and champion customer service, quality and safety programs, and associated offices and branches; plan and implement long- and short-range programs and strategies based on the authority's strategic plans, goals, and objectives; and develop and implement supporting policies and procedures. |
