The Clara Abbott Foundation is organized as a 501(c)(3) corporation with a separate Board of Directors (BOD) and Officers which provides Abbott families with financial assistance in times of hardship and college/vocational scholarships. The Financial Assistance Program (FAP) provides assistance to meet the financial needs of Abbott Laboratories employees, retirees, eligible family members and survivors worldwide, promoting financial responsibility. The Clara Abbott Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to the dependents of Abbott employees and retirees, who demonstrate need, to attend a post-secondary school at the undergraduate level. Both programs uphold the initial intentions of Clara Abbott's Will by providing aid or relief to individuals in financial need.
The primary function of the Project Manager is to plan, develop, gain board approval, and implement an updated Financial Assistance Program for our clients, yielding a distribution of approximately $6MM per year over the LRP. This will initially focus on new market launches, creating of standards in these new countries and assessment and updating of current market standards used.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Understand current and historical global business and market trends, in new and current markets served, and how they factor into FAP changes.
Work and Foundation senior staff to understand IRS requirements to develop guard rails for future changes, understanding the implications of any policy changes or new program initiatives.
Facilitate all core team meetings. Issue agendas and minutes. Track progress against the project plan and action items.
In collaboration with the Vice President and Executive Director, develop and implement presentations to BOD Committees and lead a strategic discussion with the BOD to develop an overall vision.
Develop comprehensive program plans, which identify objectives, strategy, risks/risk mitigation, budget, effort estimates and schedule for implementation.
Effectively translate business vision and broad strategies including who is served, where clients are served, how they are served into a tangible business plan and goals, prioritizing initiatives appropriately.
Create and monitor key performance indicators to ensure success of the program.
Projects are self-initiated. Does not require direct supervision. Work with all areas of the organization. Make appropriate decisions along with senior staff.
Operate at all levels and maintain interaction with senior management within the company.
Prepare and deliver verbal, written and electronic presentations to multiple levels of management, including the BOD.
Able to write clearly and succinctly; can get messages across that have the desired effect. Package information in a manner that is easily comprehensible, concise and visually pleasing. Anticipate objections and handle them in a positive manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's Degree preferably in business or related subject, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 year's experience in project management with extensive knowledge of MS Project, PowerPoint, Word
A master's degree is preferred.
Ten (10) or more years of previous project or management experience required, including management of large scope program.
Strong analytic skills, interpersonal / people skills, presentation and facilitation skills
Strong influencing skills - capable of selling programs and leading change
Strong leadership skills - team oriented, capable of working with top management on large scope initiatives or projects
Self-starter - identify gaps and implement solutions to close
