Position Purpose: The Site Reliability Engineer serves as a reliability engine in the Application Site Reliability Department, and has a chance to work with industry-leading systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the support of internal and external software systems that our Account Processing teams depend upon to deliver world-class financial technology to the banking industry. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems using a wide variety of technologies.
This is a full-time position in a collaborative environment working with other skilled software professionals to operate reliable and secure software systems.
Business Description: Develops and operates systems that enable financial transactions at scale. Assists with the creation of error budgets, and monitors production systems for degradations in service. Standardizes, automates, maintains, and tests software systems. Recommends major changes to system operation.

Education o Desire to learn complex systems o A completed Bachelor's Degree in STEM, or equivalent education, in a related discipline is beneficial

Additional Skills/Knowledge o Working knowledge of systems thinking and design o Working knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Perl, Python, Bash, CL, WFL, etc.) o Working knowledge of the Agile Methodology (Jira, Confluence, Git) o Basic knowledge of hardware and software defects and system reliability o Working knowledge of DevOps (Ansible, Harness, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Kafka, etc.) o Basic knowledge of a systems programming language (Rust, C#, C++, Java, COBOL, etc.) o Ability to interact with external and internal clients for data gathering and operational feedback o Strong writing skills are required o Strong leadership skills are beneficial o Financial industry interest and experience is beneficial o Experience with IBMi or Unisys MCP mainframe systems is beneficial
Travel Required o The position is based out of Lincoln, NE. The travel requirements will be minimal. However, there may be business needs for travel (to client locations and other Fiserv locations) and hence some flexibility is expected.
