Lineman or Lineman First Class (Based on level of qualifications)
Lineman GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: Performs advanced and skilled electrical work in the maintenance, repair and construction of overhead and underground transmission and distribution (T & D) lines and equipment. Frequently works with energized high voltage lines, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions. Work is performed under immediate supervision. Work is subject to inspection while in progress or upon completion for quality and operating results. TYPICAL TASKS: Performs the installation, maintenance and repair work on low and high voltage lines. Installs poles, transformers and other auxiliary equipment. Tests voltage loads on transformers.
