American Public Transportation Association (APTA) seeks a Program Manager-Standards Development Program to serve as the lead coordinator for its Standards Program. The individual in this position will maintain standards documents, develop and maintain metrics for the program, update the APTA standards webpage as well as manage and advise a few standards development working groups by coordinating meetings to achieve document production. Duties also include helping to conduct workshops and conference sessions for the Technical Services & Innovation Department.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two to four years of project management experience in public transportation or a related field. Specific expertise with bus or rail programs/operations/safety is desirable. Must also possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work effectively with people and organizations as well as work independently and under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines. Must be able to travel to conferences and meetings as needed.
