Job Description:Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Application Services, the Application Architect Lead is the subject matter expert on designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining complex applications programs. This position has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications programming and is responsible for quality assurance review. This role defines the stack that developers build on, catalogs our application inventory, and ensures that the inventory is current by managing the life cycle of those applications. .
Major Areas of Responsibility- Acts as primary subject matter expert on designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining the College's applications.
- Maintain expertise in development technologies and monitor industry trends. Set technical direction and establish training paths to keep the group current.
- Advise on the technical architecture to be used for projects.
- Maintain a software inventory and work with the Information Security group and Application Services team to keep software up to date.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of code and applications.
- Assist in application development and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 6 years of experience in software programming tools with at least 2 years of web development experience.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing software technical architectures.
- Expertise in the latest popular development stacks (Vue.js, React, etc.) and understanding of older stacks (Rails) with an eye towards bringing older stacks into modernity.
- Maintain a high technical proficiency in Internet (TCP/IP). Web (HTTP, Web Servers, Web browsers, ), and applications development.
- Strong background in DevOps, Agile, the SDLC, and Linux. This role requires expertise that can stand up the stack as well as build in it.
- Proven track record of developing innovative technical solutions to business opportunities. Must be able to act as a change agent for Holy Cross, participating in multiple high-visibility projects.
- Higher education experience is preferred.

Additional Information:This is a full-time, exempt-level level position with an annual salary. The College is committed to providing competitive market pay for its employees. The annual salary for this position ranges from $107,000 - $114,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
