The Operations and Information Management Department at Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst invites applications for one tenure-track position. This appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2023.
The position opening is for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Operations Management. Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in Operations Management or a closely related field preferably from an AACSB accredited institution (must be obtained by September 1, 2023). A high level of scholarship or the potential to establish a strong scholarly record is a must. Candidates are expected to have an active program of research with a demonstrated ability for high quality scholarly publications in OM journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management. Preference for this position will be given to candidates who conduct analytical or numerical research, especially in application areas involving service operations, socially responsible operations, sustainability, and the use of emerging technologies in supply chains. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and advanced level courses in operations management, such as service operations management and supply chain management, along with doctoral seminars. The ability to mentor junior faculty is required for the associate tenure-track appointment. Willingness and/or experience working with doctoral students is a plus.
