The Electrical Engineer position requires a self-motivated individual who prefers freedom over micromanagement. You will work for a world class design and manufacturer of finishing equipment for the digital/ink jet market and label industry and lead the development and validation of software for our products. All engineering and manufacturing (including parts) are performed in-house so the engineers can see the entire process. The Electrical Engineer position is responsible for creation, design, continuous improvement, support, and validation of a product line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer
Create innovative conceptual designs
Create software for motion control and HMI
Maintain product code or custom code through change management
Support creating technical documentation for manuals
Lead testing and validation of new products or code changes to ensure product integrity
Ensure that software meets product needs
Create and execute validation plans to ensure robust designs
Collaborate with electrical designers on hardware requirements
Support creating layouts, assemblies, details and schematics via AutoCAD
Define, measure, analyze, improve, and control designs (DMAIC)
Provide technical support for sales, service, manufacturing, and R&D
Collaborate with all departments to produce final products
Maintain design schedules
Maintain knowledge of technology upgrades, industry trends and engineering resources to meet or exceed product development and/or customer requirements
Document new design setups for communication to Customer Service and the customer
Document design guides for distribution within Engineering
Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s)
Participate in cost reductions projects
Proactive in proposing alternate solutions for process improvement

Electrical EngineerRequired Experience, Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required
Paper or label converting experience - web handling experience (unwind, rewind, tension control) preferred.
Applicable experience with printing equipment, digital web handling, processing equipment, packaging machinery, or machine tools, or demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge.
PLC Motion control programming experience preferred (B&R preferred)
In-field start-up experience preferred.
Demonstrated project completion experience and ownership.
DFSS knowledge and experience preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered.
