The Network Engineering group within Aviation Technology Division runs a highly resilient, available, and secure network to support the airports, their business partners, and tenants.
The Network Engineering Manager (Lead Information Technology Systems Specialist) will lead the Network Engineering section of the Aviation Technology division. This position will facilitate the long-term changes needed to transition the airport network for our stakeholders, tenants, and passengers.
The Network Engineer Manager will be responsible for:
Ongoing maintenance, operation, and support of the Aviation Network infrastructure to ensure a highly resilient and available network providing 99.99% uptime for all stakeholders and customers. The Aviation Network is a MPLS architecture with wired and wireless virtual networks in support of numerous critical airport business systems.
Spearhead the planning, design, implementation, and administration of the future Aviation business network for growth, flexibility, scalability to support the airport Master Plan and projected next phase of growth.
Pave the way and plan, design, and transition Aviation to a Software Designed Network (SDN) technology architecture and offer more efficient ways for management provisioning and securing and providing an overall more resilient network service. This effort will transform the way we serve our customers and internal business units.
Plan and perform life cycle and other upgrades of network infrastructure to prevent disruption to Aviation business systems.
Monitor, administer, install, secure, configure and maintain, diagnose, resolve network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), load balancers, domain name system (DNS) appliances and campus-wide wireless infrastructure.
Develop long-range plans and budgets for network future state.
Maintain/update network disaster recovery to ensure recovery and business continuity.
Design and implement network performance and security measures. Review network and communications logs and alerts for corrective actions and/or modifications.
Collaborate closely with Applications, GIS, Server, Airport Systems, and other internal teams to support ongoing changes and in delivery of new projects.
Oversee cable infrastructure and support capital development projects to ensure new facilities are designed and delivered to offer maximum flexibility and future scalability.
Drive innovation by enhancing the efficiency, management and security of Aviation Network making it easier yet more secure to support variety of external business partners such as airlines, tenants, and service providers.
Deliver and expand the Tenant Technology Services to tenants. Ensure network can support new requirements such as IoT, Smart Facilities, Physical Perimeter Surveillance, etc.
Think strategically, identifying opportunities to make ongoing management and support of the campus-wide network more efficient, secure and a business enabler.
Think creatively, collaborate with various business units and internal teams to design and deliver network services
Create and maintain policies and procedures, standards, configuration information and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all Network services documentation.
Manage and mentor a team and recruit/ train staff for development and succession planning.

Expert knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies including but not limited to Spanning-Tree, VLANs, VTP, UDLD, VDC, CDP IPv4, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPv6, HSRP, and VRR.
Strong understanding of Software Defined Network (SDN) technology from Cisco, vendor landscape, architectural considerations, and migration paths.
Understanding of public cloud, specifically with respect to networking for cloud workloads, site to cloud secure connectivity.
Self-motivated individual with initiative and who can prioritize responsibilities and run multiple and concurrent networking projects.
Adept in supporting very fast-paced environments and providing solution and engineering, i.e., proof-of concepts, pilots, use case development, solution validation and enablement.
Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills, ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, both verbally and in written form, to technical or non-technical audience.
Ability to occasionally drive to various network infrastructure locations on campus and support network engineering in troubleshooting/ replacements / upgrades.
Demonstrated skill in developing and presenting business cases for strategic infrastructure changes and improvements to include hardware lifecycle replacement as well as evaluating projects, establishing priorities, and communicating timelines for deployment of solutions.
SALARY
$82,492.80 - $125,424.00 annually. Candidates may be hired up to $125,424.00 depending upon qualifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
Three to five years of experience in planning, design, implementation and ongoing support and maintenance of a large campus wide MPLS network.
Three to five years of Network Administration experience with proficiency in Cisco technology stack, life cycle upgrades/replacements.
Experience in Cisco Smartnet support ecosystem, preparing and managing operating and capital budgets.
Strong experience with VPN solutions including different types of IPsec endpoints including Cisco Firewalls, Cisco VPN Concentrators, Cisco Routers.
Experience in supervising or leading team of Network engineers.
CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDE or similar industry certifications.
