DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING (HOSPITAL)

Salary Range: $157,000 - $170,00 per Year

We’re looking for an experienced engineering and facilities leader to take on a highly visible role—someone who understands what it takes to run a top-tier healthcare facility and takes pride in doing it right.

Your role

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of Engineering and Plant Operations, guiding facilities management, construction projects, equipment maintenance, and system upgrades. You’ll ensure our utility systems—both on-site and off-site—operate reliably, and that all work meets hospital standards and local, state, federal, and regulatory requirements. This role blends hands-on oversight with strategic leadership, ensuring our physical environment consistently supports high-quality, community-focused care.

To qualify, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering


• 7–10 years of professional experience, including 5–7 years in a hospital setting


• Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations


• Solid understanding of TJC Physical Environment standards


• Working knowledge of engineering principles to guide staff and vendor work


• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills


• Proven ability to supervise staff, contractors, and construction vendors
