Postdoc in Plant Growth and Development
The Baskin laboratory is hiring a Postdoctoral Resarcher to work on the coordinated regulation of cell division and elongation in the plant root. The person hired into this position will work on the role of the root cortex in a seedling’s acclimation to temperature. The project uses the roots of Arabidopsis thaliana, leverging the lab’s kinematic analysis of growth and dvision. The hired person will conduct tissue-specific transcriptomics for gene discovery and will design, build, and characterize plants in which cell division is inhibited specifically in the root cortex. The person will also supervise undergraduate students and help write papers associated with the project.
