Position IntroductionThe Department of Education at Vassar College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Education for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Position DescriptionThis faculty member will teach courses in special education, adolescent literacy and social foundations of education. We are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to promoting socially just, equitable, inclusive, and critically transformative learning environments to teach 2 sections of our Introduction to Special Education course, an Adolescent Literacy course, and 2 sections of our Contemporary Issues in Education course. The teaching load is five courses per year.In addition to teacher education, the Education Department offers a major and correlate in Educational Studies and we seek a colleague with interests that engage critical theoretical perspectives with the possibility of advising one or two theses students.
